Ekaterina Koroleva (handballer)
Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Koroleva (Russian: Екатерина Александровна Королёва; 8 October 1998 – 7 July 2019)[1] was a Russian handball player who played for Stavropol SKFU.[2]

Biography
Koroleva was born in Krymsk. She was playing with her team Stavropol in the highest Russian women's league. She was also a member of Russian junior national teams. In 2017 she won at the U-19 European Championships in Slovenia the Silver medal after losing the finale against France. Later the Russian team has lost the medal due to a positive doping test by three team members of Koroleva.[3] One year later, she came 4th at the 2018 Women's Junior World Handball Championship.[4]
Koroleva was not only playing Indoor handball, but also Beach handball. She was member of Russia women's national beach handball team and participated at the 2019 European Beach Handball Championship in Stare Jabłonki, Poland. With the Russian team she ranked in 9th place. On the closing day she died in a swimming accident.[2]
