Economic History Society of Southern Africa
Economic History Society of Southern Africa (EHSSA), established in 1980, aims βto promote the study of, and interest in economic and social historyβ. It does so by holding conferences and workshops at various South African universities and publishing the journal Economic History of Developing Regions (renamed as of 2010; previously the South African Journal of Economic History). Its President is Dr Sophia du Plessis (University of Stellenbosch).
It takes a liberal, pro-capitalist view.[1]
