Durga (2008 series)
Durga is an Indian Bengali language television soap opera, which aired from 8 September 2008–26 June 2010 on Bengali GEC Star Jalsha.[2] The show starred Sandipta Sen,[3] Gourab Chatterjee[4] and Swagata Mukherjee[5] in lead roles.

A spiritual sequel or a reboot of this series, Durga Durgeshwari, premiered in 2019 and ended in 2020. It starred Sampurna Mondal and Bishwarup Banerjee in the lead roles.[6]
Plot
It is the tale of the journey of a village belle and an ardent devotee of Goddess Durga, Durga (Sandipta Sen) who gets married to a mentally unwell heir, Rupam (Gourab Chatterjee), of an urban rich family. Rupam is kept captive for several years by an evil woman Damini (Swagata Mukherjee). However, Durga's faith in the Goddess, which is her strength helps her to cure Rupam. The Goddess comes to her rescue during all of Durga's challenges. Thus, Durga helps Rupam lead a normal life by defeating the foul plans of his relatives with the help of Goddess Durga.

Remakes
A Kannada version of this serial with the same name was made in 2015 and aired in Star Suvarna. Later in 2017, a Telugu version again with the same name was made and aired in Star Maa.
Recently a Hindi version, with the name Durga – Mata Ki Chhaya[7] debuted on 14th December 2020 with Chahat Pandey, Avinash Mishra and Rakshanda Khan reprising the roles of Sandipta Sen, Gourab Chatterjee and Swagata Mukherjee.
