Dorie Boyce

Dorie Boyce (born August 1963) is an American former short track and long track speed skater, who was active in the 1980s.[3]

Career

As a short track speed skater Boyce was part of the U.S. Short Track Teams in 1978 and 1979. In 1978, she was part of the team winning the Relay Team in Solihull, England, along with Sarah Docter, Peggy Hartrlch and Patty Lyman. In 1979 the team finished third in the team relay in Quebec City; together with Cathy Turner, Peggy Hartrich and Maggie Burns.[4] She switched to speed skating and as a junior Boyce competed at the World Junior Speed Skating Championships in 1981 and 1982, finishing 5th overall in 1982. Boyce represented her nation at senior level three times at the World Allround Speed Skating Championships for Women. In 1981 (finishing 27th overall), in 1982 (finishing 21st overall) and in 1983 (finishing 18th overall).[5] She competed at World Sprint Speed Skating Championships for Women in 1982 (26th overall) and in 1983 (29th overall). She also competed at several other international competitions in Germany and Switzerland.[5] She was an alternate in the 500m for the 1984 Winter Olympics, but didn't compete.[6]
