Biography

Born in Nancy, France, Degalle started playing piano and drums at age 2. Her experience in the traditional education system was limited to one week in kindergarten, after which she attended the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. After graduating, she briefly attended the Conservatoire de Paris, then moved to the United States to attend the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts under a full Presidential Scholarship.[1][2]

During Degalle's attendance at Berklee College, she began posting videos of her musical performances on multiple social networks. This earned her the attention of several prominent jazz and funk musicians, such as Robert Searight of Snarky Puppy and Ghost-Note, and Louis Cole of KNOWER, who have involved her in several music projects and performances.[1][3]

Degalle met percussionist J.D. Beck at the 2018 Namm show, and the two began performing as a duo.[4][5] In 2019, the pair formed a trio with MonoNeon, the bass player of Ghost-Note.[1]

Equipment

Degalle plays the Nord Stage 3,[6] Yamaha Montage7 and MODX8 keyboards.[7] She is sponsored by Nord, Yamaha, Dave Smith and Spectrasonics.[2]
