Dominguín fought in the classic style that was very popular in the early twentieth century. This was eclipsed by the style of Juan Belmonte, a rival that many consider the greatest matador of all time. He was the father of bullfighters Luis Miguel Dominguín, Domingo Dominguín and Pepe Dominguín. His daughter Carmen married bullfighter Antonio Ordóñez.
