The station has two platforms and there are two loop lines adjacent to their respective platforms. The height of the platform was 1 feet 6 inches.[2] The platform shed is made out of plastic.[3] The station also has parking facility outside the station building.
In 2014, railways authorities carried out drives to demolish illegally built structures in the parking lot of the station.[4]
In 2018, a development project of 1 crore and 8 lakh BDT was made in a total of three stations which included the Dhaka Airport railway station. The height of a 55,000 square-feet platform[5] is upgraded and raised to 2 feet 3 inches. A total of 20 feet is also being added by 10 feet on both the north and south sides of the platform. The work of the mosaic is done on the raised platform. All passenger seats in the platform and the waiting rooms were also renovated.[2] 15,000 sq ft fencing and 21,000 sq ft fencing renovation and 13,000 sq ft access control fencing along with four barriers at Ashkona and Koshaibari level crossing have also been done.[5] Special railings is provided at both ends of the station to prevent people from entering the station without the station gate.[2]
