Early life

John was born on 8 December 1951 in Panchkui, Madhya Pradesh, India.[1] He completed his studies at Seminary of St. Thomas and at the Jnana-Deepa Vidyapeeth.[4]

Priesthood

On 27 October 1982, John was ordained a priest for the Society of the Divine Word.[1]

Episcopate

John was appointed bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jhabua on 11 May 2009 by Pope Benedict XVI and consecrated on 16 June 2009 by Leo Cornelio. On 21 December 2012, he was appointed bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Udaipur by Pope Benedict XVI.[5] He also served as Apostolic Administrator of Jhabua, India from 21 December 2012 until 10 October 2015.[1] His episcopal motto is THE JOY OF HOPE.[6]
