Boxing career
Simmonds was effectively the National champion in 1970 after winning the 1970 light-middleweight ABA championships.
He represented England in the 71 kg light-middlweight division, at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland.[1][2][3]
He turned professional and fought in 4 fights from 1974 until 1980.[4]
He was a member of the Gloucester Boxing Club.
