Dark-backed wood quail
The dark-backed wood quail (Odontophorus melanonotus) is a bird species in the family Odontophoridae. It is found in Colombia and Ecuador. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Feeding
The Dark-backed wood quail eats insects and nuts especially in summer, as well as plants. Unlike many other bird species, they require a high protein diet.
