Chris Roush
Chris Roush (born October 20, 1964) is a journalism professor and author in the United States, He is the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He previously was the Walter E. Hussman, Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at University of North Carolina.[1][2]
Early years
Roush was born in Opelika, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University in 1987 and received his master's degree from the University of Florida in 1990. He taught business journalism at Washington & Lee University in 2001-01 and the University of Richmond in 2001-02. His students include Sapna Maheshwari, Jeanna Smialek and Emily Steel of The New York Times business news desk, Kayla Tausche and Landon Dowdy of CNBC, Caitlin McCabe of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Chelsey Delaney, Steven Norton and Sarah Chaney of The Wall Street Journal, and Michelle Jarboe of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. His students at Bloomberg News include Sarah Frier, Lauren Berry, and Patricia Laya.
At UNC-Chapel Hill, he was senior associate dean of the School of Media and Journalism from 2011 to 2015 and director of the master's program from 2007 to 2010.
Journalist
He worked as a business journalist for The Sarasota Herald-Tribune, The Tampa Tribune, BusinessWeek magazine, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Bloomberg News and SNL FInancial, where he was editor in chief and launched Insurance Investor magazine.
Author
He has written the leading textbook for business journalism, called "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication. He has also written the only history of business journalism, titled "Profits and Losses: Business Journalism and its Role in Society" and is co-author of the business journalism stylebook, "The SABEW Stylebook.

Roush is the creator and author of business journalism website Talking Biz News,[3] which had more than 1.3 million page views in 2018.
In 2016, he created the North Carolina Business News Wire[4] with his students. The News Wire has provided content for The Charlotte Observer, the Charlotte Business Journal, the Durham Herald-Sun, WRAL TechWire and other publications.
Workshops
He has taught more than 100 workshops for the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Business Journalism and has taught business journalism classes and workshops on five continents—Asia, Africa, Europe, South America and North America.
He has been quoted about business journalism in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today and other publications. He has written about business journalism for the American Journalism Review and Columbia Journalism Review.
Author
He has also written histories of seven corporations, including Home Depot, Commerce Bank, Regions Financial and Pacific Coast Feather Co.
