Chisom Chikatara (born 24 November 1994) is a Nigerian forward who currently plays for Naft Maysan in the Iraqi Premier League

He has two sisters and three brothers, he is from Ibeku in Abia State Nigeria. His Father is from Amuzukwu Ibeku and Mother from Nkata Ibeku. He went to Global christ Academy Bende Road and then went to Government College Umuahia. He is known for his speed on the ball, dribbles, Super Strikes and goal scoring abilities[2] Chikatara started playing football at the age of 7 for Independent FC a childhood club for kids, he then outgrew the club and joined New Generation FC. He also played for major local competitions in the state and country.
In club football, Chisom got promoted with Abia Warriors FC into the First Division League which is the Glo Nigeria Premier League in 2013. He won the Youngest Player in the Pro League, He won the Most Valuable Player of The Club MVP, he won the highest goal scorer in the Nigeria National League. He became the 3rd highest goal scorer in the 2015 Nigeria Premier league with 2 goals behind the top scorer. In July 2016 the player joined Wydad Athletic Club on a three-year contract.
Club career
Early career
Chisom joined the local football club Independent FC, a club basically for children of age 13 below. After five years with the club, he outgrew it and moved over to New Generation FC. While playing for this club he sign a short loan deal with Benie Aries FC in a Super Four Competition between Abia Warriors Fc, Heartland FC and Diamond FC. He was the highest goal scorer in the competition. He had various offers to move to Heartland FC then which was already in the Glo Premier League but finally he moved to Abia Warriors at the age of seventeen. He signed the contract in November 2012.
Abia Warriors FC
He was part of the pillar that brought the team into the 1st division league especially with his goal scoring technique. the Super "S" as he is called by fans always scores which made him to be named the highest goal scorer as the club was promoted.[3] On 18 September 2015 his mother died and he was not told about it because the club had a home big clash against Warri Wolves, they won the match 2-1 before the Club Chairman High Chief Emeka Inyama Broke the news to him.[4]
Al-Faisaly
On 12 December 2019, Al-Faisaly announced that they had signed Chikatara on a 2-year contract.[5]
International career
He was a part of the Nigerian team that played for 2016 African Nations Championship also referred to as CHAN 2016 which was the 4th edition of the African Nations Championship. He was substituted on the 58 minutes of Nigeria vs Niger first group stage match where he bagged his National hat trick scoring at 75, 81 and 90 minutes of the match which ended 4-1 to the victory of the Nigerian Team. He was awarded man of the match too.[6] In the Second Group Stage of the CHAN 2016 tournament, he also came from the bench again to put his name on the score board which was later equalized by Akaïchi that leveled the game against Tunisia .[7] In the Third Round of the group stage match was a disaster for the Nigerian side as they lost the game by 1 nil to Guinea better side although still having Chisom Chikatara coming from the bench, and that ended the Nigerian team campaign to proceed to the next round of the competition.[8]

A quick, and agile right-footed striker, Chisom is primarily known for his outstanding pace, mobility, and athleticism as a footballer, as well as his striking power, and his strength, despite his young age;[10][11]
