"Chick-A-Boom" reached number nine on the U.S. Billboard pop chart in 1971.[2] It also reached number five on the Cash Box Top 100.[3]
It was produced by Dick Monda and Don Sciarrotta.[4] Monda produced music for the 1970-71 Filmation animated television series Groovie Goolies, for which the song was originally written and recorded.[5]
The song makes a reference to the Little Richard's "Tutti Frutti". The single ranked number 34 on Billboard's Year-End Hot 100 singles of 1971.[6]
