Cherpulassery Parthan
Cherpulassery Parthan (c. 1978 — 7 May 2019) was an elephant that lived in the Palakkad district of Kerala. With an height of 305 cm, Parthan was one of the tallest elephants captive elephants in Kerala.[1]

One of the most admired elephants in Kerala, Parthan was a main participant during the festivals of Valluvanad.[2] Parthan was mainly known for carrying the idol of Kanimangalam Sastha for Thrissur Pooram for several times.[3] He was called as the "Prince of Elephants" by the locals and was given the title name Ilamurathampuran.[4] Due to some serious illness, Parthan went on to treatment in January 2019 and died on 7 May 2019.[5]
