ChemBioChem is a sister publication to other scientific journals published by Wiley-VCH, including Angewandte Chemie, ChemMedChem, ChemPhysChem, ChemSusChem, ChemCatChem, and ChemistryViews. Its mission is to integrate the wide and flourishing fields of chemical biology and biological chemistry. Contributions in ChemBioChem cover all areas of chemical biology, including bioinorganic and bioorganic chemistry, biochemistry, structural biology, synthetic biology and bio-nanotechnology; that is, research at the interface of chemistry and biology that deals with the application of chemical methods to biological problems or uses life science tools to address questions in chemistry.
ChemBioChem publishes Communications, Full Papers, Reviews, Minireviews, Highlights, Concepts, Book Reviews, and Conference Reports. Viewpoints, Correspondence, Essays, Web Sites, and Databases are also occasionally featured.[1] The journal is indexed in major databases including the ISI's Web of Knowledge database,[2] and has been online-only since 2016.[3]
The Editorial Board is chaired by Thomas Carell (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München), Donald Hilvert (ETH Zürich), and Barbara Imperiali (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).
According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has an impact factor of 2.576 (2019).[4]
