Charcot Bay
Charcot Bay is a bay about 10 nautical miles (20 km) wide between Cape Kater and Cape Kjellman along the Davis Coast of Graham Land. It was discovered by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition, which took place in 1901–04 under Otto Nordenskiöld. Charcot Bay was named for Dr. Jean-Baptiste Charcot, at the time a noted Arctic explorer preparing for his first Antarctic expedition, during which he planned to look for Nordenskiöld (whose return was overdue).[1]
