Introduced in September 2005, Cashplus was the first prepaid credit card to be launched in the UK.[1] As of 2008, it was Europe's leading MasterCard-based prepaid service.[2]

History and developments

Since 2005, Cashplus has evolved from its roots as a prepaid card provider, to offer instant approval digital current account for consumers and SME’s, foreign currency cards, business and employee expense solutions and a full suite of lending products.[3]

Products

Personal prepaid cards and current accounts

Cashplus prepaid MasterCards and digital current accounts provide an alternative to traditional bank accounts in the UK. They offer a secure means to shop online and in store (worldwide, utilising the MasterCard network), make and receive payments (including Direct Debits and standing orders) and manage money.

Business current accounts and expense cards

Designed for SMEs, Cashplus Business Account work in a similar way to traditional business bank accounts – offering key features such as a unique account number and sort code, online and mobile banking, payments and transfers and a business MasterCard.

Foreign currency cards

Cashplus currency cards, available in Euro and US dollar varieties are available as a linked product to both consumer and business Cashplus accounts.[4]

Credit and lending products

Provided by APS, Cashplus customers can also sign up for add-on reusable lines of credit[4] and a credit repair product, Creditbuilder.[5]
