Caroline Lagerfelt

Caroline Eugenie Lagerfelt (born September 23, 1947) is a Paris-born American actress, long based in the United States, recognized for her roles on Sweet Magnolias,[1] Gossip Girl,[2] Six Degrees[3], Dirty Sexy Money[4], Nash Bridges[5] and Beverly Hills, 90210.[6]

Lagerfelt was born to Swedish diplomat and ambassador Baron I. Karl-Gustav Lagerfelt and Sara Champion de Crespigny, the daughter of the British major Vierville Champion de Crespigny and Nora (née McSloy).[7] She grew up in Japan, Vienna, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Brussels, and Sweden, and attended boarding school in England. She emigrated to the United States[8] and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.[9]

She has appeared on Broadway in Betrayal[10] directed by Sir Peter Hall, Lend Me a Tenor[11] directed by Jerry Zaks (Outer Critics Circle Award), A Small Family Business directed by Lynne Meadow[12], The Real Thing directed by Mike Nichols[13], Otherwise Engaged directed by Harold Pinter[14], The Constant Wife with Ingrid Bergman[15] directed by John Gielgud (Drama Desk nomination[16]), The Philanthropist[17], The Jockey Club Stakes directed by Cyril Ritchard[18], and Four on a Garden directed by Abe Burrows[19].

She has appeared extensively Off-Broadway in Notes on My Mother's Decline[20], Nathan the Wise[21], King Liz[22], Indian Ink[23], The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie[24], Guantanamo: Honor Bound to Defend Freedom[25], Moonlight, Hamlet[26], Phaedra Brittanica[27], The Creditors[28], Close of Play[29], Other Places[30], Cloud Nine[31], Quartermaine's Terms directed by Harold Pinter,[32] receiving an Obie Award for her work.[33]

She has two sons and resides in Santa Monica and New York. Her family owns the historical Säbylund castle on the Swedish island of Gotland.[44][45]
