Carlos Balá

Carlitos Balá (born Carlos Salim Balaá on August 13, 1925, in the Chacarita neighborhood of Buenos Aires) is an Argentine actor who specializes in children's entertainment. His trademarks are his bowl-cut hairstyle and nonsense catchphrases.

Balá had a weekly television show, cementing his status at the top of children's entertainment, on par with Piluso and Pepitito. The show featured Angueto, an invisible dog, which Balá would pull around on a taut leash.

In addition to summertime tours of Argentina, Balá starred in several family-oriented films, most notably in the Canuto Cañete series in the 1960s.

Personal life

His father, Mustafá Balaá, was a Lebanese butcher from Beirut[1] On the side of her mother, Juana Boglich Catturich,[2] Balá has roots in Austria (grandfather Nicolás),[3] Uruguay (grandmother Felicia)[4] and Montenegro (Felicia's father Juan Andres).[5]
