Notes
- The 1936 official Olympic Report has the silver medalists listed as Josef Kampfl and Alois Edeltitsch, but information from Olympisch Enzyklopaedie (in German), the Austrian Olympic Committee, and from Volker Kluge's Olympia Chronik (in German) all confirm that the actual silver medalists were Weinstabl and Proisl.
- The official Olympic report, the International Canoe Federation (ICF), and http://www.sports123.com listed Josef Kampfl and Alois Edletitsch as the silver medalists while https://www.sports-reference.com, the authors Wallechinsky and Loucky, the Austrian Olympic Committee, Olympisch Enzyklopaedie (in German), and Volker Kluge's Olympia Chronik (in German) have the silver medalists as Weinstabl and Proisl (both Austria).
