In June 2020, Lucki was criticized for comments she made while answering questions on racial discrimination within the RCMP. Lucki expressed that while individual members of the force could potentially hold unconscious racial biases, and that RCMP "have a responsibility to promote inclusion and make sure we don’t have that racism", that she struggled to understand the accusations of systemic racism as targeted towards the institution.[3] She later commented saying she later had better understands the concept of systemic racism and how it may exist within the RCMP.
