Breiðdalsvík
It is part of the municipality of Breiðdalshreppur and is located near Egilsstaðir and Breiðdalsheiði on a very large cove with the same name. With a population of only 139, the town consists mostly of transient guests. The settlement was established in the 1880s but only came to prominence in the 1960s after the harbour was developed.
