Bolgar Buttress
Bolgar Buttress (Bulgarian: рид Болгар, ‘Rid Bolgar’ \'rid 'bol-gar\) is the ice-covered buttress rising to 1500 m on the southeast side of Detroit Plateau on Nordenskjöld Coast in Graham Land, Antarctica, situated between the upper courses of Pyke and Albone Glaciers. It has steep and partly ice free west, south and east slopes.
The feature is named after the medieval city of Bolgar, capital of Volga Bulgaria in 8-15th century AD.
Location
Bolgar Buttress is located at 64°12′45″S 59°41′20″W, which is 4.1 km southwest of Zasele Peak, 12.15 km north by west of Dolen Peak, 5.15 km northeast of Kopriva Peak and 27.95 km south-southeast of Volov Peak on Davis Coast.
