Bjarki Karlsson

Bjarki Karlsson (born 1965) is an Icelandic poet, translator, linguist, and systems analyst. His first poetry collection, Árleysi alda,[1] won the Bókmenntaverðlaun Tómasar Guðmundssonar (Tómas Guðmundsson Award) for 2013.[2] and the Bókmenntaverðlaun starfsfólks bókaverslana[3] in the poetry category in the same year. The book was Iceland's best-selling poetry collection in 2013.[4]

This is an Icelandic name. The last name is patronymic, not a family name; this person is referred to by the given name Bjarki.

Personal life

He is active in Ásatrúarfélagið where he was a board member from 2011 to 2013.[5][6] After stepping down from the board he has continued to work with the organization's website.[6]
