Bill Summers (musician)

Bill Summers (born June 27, 1948) is a percussionist who plays primarily conga drums.

Career

During the 1970s, he was a member of The Headhunters with Herbie Hancock.[1] In 1998 Summers, Irvin Mayfield, and Jason Marsalis started the band Los Hombres Calientes in New Orleans.[2] With Quincy Jones he worked on the scores for the movie The Color Purple and the television miniseries Roots.[2]
