Balsu
Balsu Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. is a producer and exporter of hazelnuts and its derivatives. Its seat is in the Beykoz district in Istanbul.[1]

History
Its history dates back to 1978, as its founder Cüneid Zapsu established a company which supplied hazelnuts from Turkey to the German market.[2][3] The modern company was founded in 1984 as a privately held business based in Istanbul.[4] In 1993 it established a branch in the United States, with its seat at the Bay Harbor Islands, Miami.[5]
Production
Today the company is one of the main hazelnut producers in Turkey, its factory in Sakarya is able to process about 35'000 tons of hazelnuts per year.[6] It is also a leading exporter of hazelnuts to the global market and [7]to its clients count companies like Ritter Sport, Ferrero[2] or Nestlé. Balsu created together with Nestlé and Olam International a program to enhance the labor standards in the hazelnut industry in Turkey.[8][9]
