Anwaarul Haq Pannun

Anwaarul Haq Pannun is a Lahore based Jurist and Judge of Lahore High Court[1] who was born on March 28, 1963 in Narowal, Pakistan. He completed his early education from Narowal and admitted in Government College University for graduation in 1984. He did Master in Political science from University of the Punjab 1986 and LL.B. from University Law College, Punjab University in 1989. He entered in legal profession in 1991.

Biography

Punnun passed his Matric in 1978 from Government Ghulam Din High School, Shakargarh district Narowal and passed F.A. from Government Degree College, Shakargarh in 1981 to proceed Lahore for further studies and admitted in Government College University for B.A. then M.A. in Political Science from Punjab University and also earned Law degree of LL.B. from University Law College. In beginning he started teaching as a Lecturer of Political Science however soon after some time resigned from post and joined legal profession in 1991.

Punnun enrolled as an Advocate Lahore High Court in 1994 and as Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan 2005. He actively involved in Bar Politics and elected Secretary District Bar Association, Narowal in 1994.[2] He elected twice as Member Punjab Bar Council in 1999-04 and 2004–09 to contribute his vision to the Bar for betterment of the Lawyers and litigants[3].[4]

President Lahore High Court Bar Association

Due to his popularity and indulgence in the Bar Politics he contested the election of President Lahore High Court Bar Association from Asma Jahangir group and elected as Bar President in 2018 and played his role to resolve the problems and different issues facing Bar members.[5][6]

Appointment as Justice

As a lawyer and President Lahore High Court Bar Association he contributed and demonstrated a significant role in the Bar and society. The President of Pakistan appointed him as Judge of Lahore High Court,[7] Lahore on 23 October 2018 and he took the oath of his office as a Judge of Lahore High Court along with his fellow judges.[8]
