Biography
Angela Behelle was born on October 5, 1971, in Auchel, France.[1] She spent part of her childhood in Pas-de-Calais and studied law at the University of Lille. After her studies, she moved to Burgundy in the department of Yonne.[1][2]
She detests the vulgarity[1] that is often associated with erotic literature.[1][3] She is the author of romance novels published, in particular, by J'ai lu,[4] Groupe Flammarion-Pygmalion, Éditions Leduc, France Loisirs and Éditions Blanche.[5][6]
In June 2012, she published an erotic saga, La Société, about the life of a secret society in the service of influential men. This story triggered controversy on French social networks and the scandal of the Dominique Strauss-Kahn affair.[7]
In 2013, La Société,[8] a ten-volume series,[9] was published as a paperback edition by Éditions J'ai lu.[10] The same year, rumours about a film adaptation reached enthusiastic fans of the series, when Eric Porcher from Kap films and Arnaud Kerneguez from Kanibal searched for an erotic novel to adapt for the screen.[11][12][13]
In 2017, a spin-off extended the universe of the famous series.[14]
