Andriy Khvetkevych

Andriy Khvetkevych (Ukrainian: Андрій Євгенович Хветкевич, born March 8, 1983) is a Ukrainian world-class freediver, six-time record holder of Ukraine in FIM, CWTB, CNF. He started freediving and apnea in 2017. He set his first National Record of Ukraine in 2018 and CMAS national record of USA in 2019.[1][2]

Biography

Andriy Khvetkevych was born March 8, 1983, in Dnipro, Ukraine.

In 2005, graduated bachelor's degree in Cybernetics in National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine.

In 2008, graduated master's degree in Intellectual Property in Ukrainian State Institute of Intellectual Property.[3]

In 2017, he started his training in apnea and freediving.

Sport career

He set free-diving national records both in USA and Ukraine. Among them are:

  • Constant Weight Without Fins, CNF (-71 meter) in July 2018;[4][5][6]
  • Free Immersion (-95 meter) in October 2019[7]
  • Constant weight Bi-Fins, CWTB (-97 meter) in August 2019, CMAS National Record[8][9][10][11]
  • Constant weight Bi-Fins (-80 meter) in May 2019, AIDA National Record.

He is the first Individual Champion, competing for two different countries: Ukraine by AIDA and USA by CMAS.[12]

His achievements have been recognized with AIDA and CMAS organizations.[13][14]

In 2019, Khvetkevych set US national record at AIDA Caribbean Cup 2019.[15]
