History
April 3, 2013 – Advent International acquired the Coating Resins Division as a divestiture from Cytec Industries.
October 2013 – Allnex acquired Desmolux® non-waterborne radiation curing resins from Bayer MaterialScience.[5] The products are now sold under the brand name EBECRYL™.
February 2014 – Allnex opened a technology center and Americas headquarters in Alpharetta, GA, USA.[6]
December 29, 2014 – Allnex acquired Águia Química, one of the largest manufacturers of alkyd and acrylic resins in Brazil. Founded in 1989 and located in Ponta Grossa/PR, Brazil, Águia Química is a Brazilian market leader in alkyd and acrylic resins for paints, composites, adhesives and sandpapers, in addition to distribution of solvents.[7]

Products and technologies
Allnex’s product range sells into various applications in end user markets such as automotive, industrial coating, protective, packaging and coating inks and consumer electronics.
Acrylates
The use of acrylates, initially designed for radical curing initiated by ultra-violet (UV) light or electron beam (EB) radiation, is well established and increasingly popular in two non UV/EB reaction mechanisms: free radical crosslinking initiated by peroxides and Michael addition.
Additives
Allnex develops additives that help improve the appearance and durability of coatings, the flow of paints and inks, the efficiency of the manufacturing process and the sustainability of formulations.
Amino Crosslinkers & Catalysts
Allnex's CYMEL® amino crosslinkers are used in industrial coatings applications including automotive, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), kitchen cabinets, metal food and beverage packaging, metal building products and general metal finishings.
Composites & Construction Products
Allnex supplies various materials to the construction, composites and manufacturing markets. In Australia and New Zealand, Allnex is the leading producer and distributor of composite resins, flowcoats and gelcoats, and resin based in situ flooring systems for commercial and industrial sectors.
Ecowise Choice
Allnex ECOWISE™ CHOICE portfolio is a selection of products meeting stringent environmental, health and safety requirements in the industry. They are assessed along the five sustainability pillars: safer materials, air emissions, circular economy, energy efficiency and renewable sourcing.
Energy Curable Resins
Allnex produces ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (EB) energy-cured coating resins. Radiation-cured coatings offer excellent appearance, durability and stain resistance, alongside low or zero VOC emissions, while enabling increased productivity and lowering overall costs per cured part.[9]
Phenolic Crosslinkers
Phenolic crosslinkers are used in a wide variety of applications, including many types of high-performance coatings. Allnex develops technical resins for the tire industry, durable printing inks and industrial and packaging coatings.
Powder Coating Resins
Resins are an essential constituent of powder coatings, a technology used to apply a decorative or protective finish in the automotive, furniture and appliance markets. Recent technology advancements now allow the use of powder coatings on heat-sensitive materials such as wood and plastics.[10]
Solventborne Resins
Solventborne resins facilitate the formulation of coatings with robust application properties, metal adhesion, corrosion resistance and very high gloss. Solventborne resin and paint systems are the preferred choice where application conditions and substrate character can vary widely, such as in marine and protective systems.
Waterborne Resins
Water-based coating formulations use water-soluble amines as hardeners, strongly reducing the volatile organic compounds (VOC) in the coatings. Allnex offers tailored waterborne resin systems for specific substrates and end-use applications.
TMXDI/Urethane Specialties
TMXDI is an aliphatic tertiary diisocyanate monomer that provides practical methods for production of urethanes, carbodiimides and hybrids with minimal side reactions it allows to produce dispersions without the use of any solvent.
Safety, Health and Environment
Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) are high priorities for Allnex, which aims to maintain a high level of SHE awareness and compliance by continuously investing to ensure that all of the group's production plants and laboratories meet strict safety standards and requirements. More than 80% of Allnex production plants are certified as complying with the ISO 14001 international standard for environmental management systems, and more than 60% are certified as complying with the OHSAS 18001 standard for occupational health and safety management systems.
