While still going to school, Simonetta was called up to the A.S. Roma squad for a Champions League match against Real Madrid CF. Despite making the bench, he did not play.[1] After playing in the Italian second and third divisions, Simonetta joined the police aged 24, playing for A.S.D. Astrea, the police team in the fourth division and becoming one of the most wanted players at amateur level.[1]
