Albert Daeger

Albert Daeger OFM (March 5, 1872 – December 2, 1932) was the sixth Roman Catholic archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Born in St. Anne, Indiana,[1] Daeger was ordained a priest on July 25, 1896, for the Franciscan order. His assignments included Kansas City, Missouri; Lincoln, Nebraska; Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pena Blanca, New Mexico; Sacred Heart Parish, Farmington, New Mexico (as the first Franciscan Pastor of the Parish); and San Diego Mission, Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico. On March 10, 1919, he was appointed Archbishop of Santa Fe and then consecrated on May 7, 1919.[2]

In December, 1928, he presided at the mass of funeral of Father Anton Docher in Isleta Pueblo.[3]

Daeger died on December 2, 1932 in Santa Fe after sustaining injuries from a fall[4] down a coal chute.[5]
