African Artists' Foundation

The African Artists' Foundation (AAF) is a non-profit organization, based in Lagos, Nigeria. It was founded in 2007 by Azu Nwagbogu[1] to promote Nigerian and other African art and artists.[2]

Projects

AAF started the following projects:

  • Lagos Photo Festival – began in 2010 as the first and only international arts festival of photography in Nigeria.[1][3][4][5][6]
  • National Art Competition – began in 2008, helped artist to expose their work to the target audience.[7]
  • Female Artist's Platform[1][8]
  • CDI – Capacity Development Integration[9]
  • YECA – Youth Empowerment through Contemporary Art[10]
  • ABA – Art Base Africa, it is an online platform for debating about African contemporary art[11]
  • NAC – National Art Competition, an annual arts competition organized by AAF[12]
