Abraham Kurland

Abraham Kurland (10 June 1912 – 14 March 1999) was a Danish wrestler.[1]

Kurland was Jewish, and was born in Odense, Syddanmark, Denmark.[1][2] He was affiliated with the Hakoah Jewish Sports club, København/Bagsværd, København.[2][3]

He won a silver medal in lightweight Greco Roman wrestling at the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles, after being narrowly defeated for the gold medal.[1][4]

He was the favorite to win a gold medal at the 1936 Olympics, but declined to participate because it was taking place in Nazi Germany.[3][4] In the 1948 games Kurland participated in the 1948 Summer Olympics, at the age of 45.[3]
