History
The AO1 Foundation was founded by Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz in June 2017. Wentz founded the organization primarily for underprivileged youth, the physically disabled and military veterans to be involved in his main hobbies; outdoor and wildlife activities.
Wentz contributed his idea for a charitable organization based on his upbringing and religious views.[1] The Carson Wentz AO1 (“Audience of One”) Foundation focuses on three main objectives that reflect some of Wentz's deepest passions in life – his faith, his enthusiasm for the outdoors and his avid love for dogs.[2][3] The "audience of one" in the foundation's name refers to Jesus, as Wentz is a devout Christian.[4]
Ministries
Thy Kingdom Crumb
Founded in 2018 as a partnership between the Audience of One Foundation and The Connect Church, Thy Kingdom Crumb (TKC) exists to “Demonstrate the love of God and to infuse His hope by feeding all people and uplifting communities.” By distributing quality food with excellence, through community outreach, and the formation of Kingdom relationships, it is their goal to help all people experience the unconditional love of God in a tangible manner. TKC aims to identify various needs and opportunities within communities to better facilitate compassionate care. Forming Kingdom-based relationships with like-minded organizations, people, and communities will increase the reach, capabilities, and impact of their programs.[5]
Outdoor Ministry
“Fostering a genuine passion for the outdoors and bringing people closer to God through discipleship.”
The AO1 Outdoor Ministry aims to serve those with physical challenges, life-threatening illnesses (past and present), and the underserved in order to “Foster a genuine passion for outdoor activities and bring people closer to God through discipleship.” This is accomplished by providing various hunting and fishing experiences and through Camp Conquerors.
In this program, they share the culture of sporting as they believe valuable life lessons can be learned through the outdoors and that these outreach opportunities will demonstrate the love of God to their participants.
Haiti Sports Complex
“A partnership to bring hope to a nation through sport.”
After visiting on a mission trip in the spring of 2017, Carson felt a calling for the Audience of One Foundation to establish a footprint in Haiti. He saw the great work Mission of Hope (MOH): Haiti had already been doing in the country, and together they began “A partnership to bring hope to a nation through sport” by building the Haiti Sports Complex.
Only a few months after Carson's initial visit, the AO1 Foundation granted MOH: Haiti the funds to complete Phase I of the project, which includes a multipurpose building complete with locker rooms, bathrooms, showers, two basketball courts, and a sport court. With Phase I nearing completion, construction of Phase II is expected to begin shortly, which includes the addition of turf fields adjacent to the multipurpose building.
Through the partnership with MOH: Haiti, the AO1 Foundation will continue to help fund, maintain, and run the Haiti Sports Complex.
