7 Cups
7 Cups (formerly called 7 Cups of Tea) is a website (also available in an app) which provides online therapy and free support to people experiencing emotional distress by connecting them with trained listeners.[1][2] The listener, trained in active listening, interacts with the person seeking help via an anonymous and confidential chat.[3] Members must be 13 to 17 on the teenage side and 18+ for the adult side. Listeners must be 15 or over.[4]

The website derives its name from the eponymous poem by the 9th century Chinese poet Lu Tong. It is a Y Combinator startup founded by psychologist Glen Moriarty in July 2013.[1]
