2018 Osun gubernatorial election
The Osun State gubernatorial election took place on September 22, 2018. The election was held alone where national and state level elections will be held by 2019. Two-terms incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola of the All Progressives Congress is in-eligible to run for re-election. He won in the 2014 Osun State gubernatorial election with a total of 394,684 votes, winning the highest number of votes in 22 of the 30 Local Government Areas of the state.[1]
Background
Rauf Aregbesola previously served as a commissioner in Lagos State under Bola Tinubu's administration prior to becoming governor.
