Changes from 1979–80

The 1980-82 saw five new clubs enter the league from PSSI's selection process, though one (BBSA Tama) withdrew midway through the previous season.[1] The new clubs are:

  3. Cahaya Kita moved from Jakarta to Semarang.
  4. Bintang Timur played their home matches at Cirebon.
  5. Sari Bumi Raya moved from Bandung to Yogyakarta.
  6. Buana Putra moved from Jakarta to Bogor.
