1868 Halifax by-election
The Halifax by-election of 1868 was held on 21 December 1868. The by-election was held due to the incumbent Liberal MP, James Stansfeld, becoming Lord Commissioner of the Treasury.[1] It was retained by Stansfeld who was unopposed.[2]
